Sipadan, Borneo (Sabah, Malaysia)
Tiny island on the northeastern coast of Borneo (East Malaysia). Not much to offer besides diving, but the diving is spectacular. Marine life is incredibly abundant and diverse. Tornadoes of barracuda and jacks are thrilling (and great for photos), and the sea turtles are a constant treat. Diving is typically 3 boat dives a day, plus unlimited shore diving at Drop Off (10 paces from the major resorts). Only 40ft/12m from shore, the reef at Drop Off falls to a depth of 2,000ft/600m - the world's most dramatic near-shore drop off. You can dive with an amazing mix of pelagics and reef creatures.
